How to service your Hills fire light flashing condition
A fast flashing fire light in conjunction with the service indicator means that a fire alarm to your burglar system now requires immediate attention. Also this service light condition with the fire light ON can be accompanied with an expander trouble fault.
Sometimes there might be a fault where the fire light is flashing fast and when you press the keys there will be no response (no key press beep).
This is an indication there might be a fault with:
- a faulty smoke alarm
- smoke alarm auxillary equipment
- mother board error
- wiring fault
- keypad trouble
- You may need to contact technical support to have this fixed.
How to reset a Hills fire light from the code pad
- 1. The fire light will be lit (steady on red)
- 2. Enter you 4 digit code. example. [1] [2] [3] [4] to silence the keypad beeping sound
- 3. Next Press [*] followed by [7] to the reset this function
- 4. The red fire light will now go OUT
- 5. You have now completed the reset (back like normal)

If the code pad still beeps and/or the red light does not go OUT, this now requires a service.
A steady fire light flashing slowly indicates a smoke detector had been set OFF. The fire light will affect mostly latching type smoke alarms.
